About Melanie

Melanie is a Clinical Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). She has experience working with adults experiencing a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss as well as self esteem problems and relationship issues. Melanie also has specialist training and experience in the assessment and treatment of Eating Disorders in adults.

Melanie has received formal training and possesses experience in providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapies. She adopts a client-centred approach and enjoys establishing a collaborative working relationship with her clients and developing strategies to overcome personal barriers, and assisting them to achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing.

Melanie has previously worked in inpatient and outpatient settings. More recently she has worked for the Body Image Eating Disorders Treatment and Recovery Service, a collaborative partnership between the mental health programs of Austin Health and St Vincent’s Melbourne. Melanie has also worked in private practice for over five years in Williamstown. Currently, she works in her own private practice in Point Cook and Newport.

Telehealth Consultations

Due to Covid-19, Melanie is now consulting via Telehealth. This allows you to keep your appointment without having to leave your home. The Health and Safety of our Clients is important to us and offering Telephone or Video sessions is our way of helping the community stop the spread of Covid-19.

We are beginning to contact those with appointments already scheduled.

What is a Telehealth session?

A Telehealth session is a consultation with your psychologist held via a video-conferencing app or over the phone. Our Telehealth sessions are conducted much the same as a regular in-person session and go for 50-60 minutes.

To participate in a video Telehealth session with a psychologist you will need:

  • Access to a private space
  • A laptop or or smartphone (Android or iOS)
  • A reliable internet connection

Appointment Types: 50-minute consultation per session

  • In-Person Consultation
  • Telehealth Telephone Consultation
  • Telehealth Video Consultation

** At the moment, Melanie is unable to accept referrals under Work Cover, TAC or those requiring legal reports.

Appointment Rates: 

  • $220 per 50-minute session
  • $136.30 Medicare Rebate (where applicable, a valid GP Referral is required to access rebate)
  • $50 – cancellation or re-scheduling 2 business days prior to appointment date
  • $220 – same day cancellation, non-attendance or no-show
  • $220 – Private Consultation (GP Referral not required)
